Miami during Spring Break is the epicenter of some high-octane partying and electronic music and dance events.

With the Winter Music Conference and Miami Music Week converging in the Magic City, together they spawn hundreds of parties, concerts, workshops... attracting hundreds of thousands, that's right, hundreds of thousands of music lovers, performers, artists, DJs, and industry reps from all over the world.

It all culminates with ULTRA, the world's most famous outdoor electronic music event. We have yet to see the return of the Winter Music Conference since the beginning of the pandemic, but we are hoping 2024 will be the year, stay tuned!

What Is Miami Music Week?

To call this "Music Week" is a major understatement. This is party central in steroids over a week long and then some, of highly charged events, a collection that keeps growing year after year. This week-long affair features almost every major artist in the electronic dance music scene. Hundreds of thousands of revelers converging in dozens of venues from South Beach, Miami Beach, Wynwood and beyond. This year's Miami Music Week is all happening from March 19 - 24, 2024.

There are hundreds of events during Miami Music Week, so how do you work your way through that maze? Some of the most popular events keep coming back year after year and they take place all through the city, you will definitely be partying in some fantastic settings: our stunning beaches, the epic night clubs, on the water aboard a mega yacht, hotel pools...

Here are some popular spots and areas where the party scene has typically concentrated during Spring Break in Miami, please note that some regular events have switched venues. Many of the line-ups, events and programs are announced at the very last minute in mid-March, we will update as events are confirmed, stay tuned and refresh your browser!

• In South Beach, check out:
  • Ocean Drive is party central on a regular day, during Spring Break it's mega party on steroids and it gets very lively around the mid-point between 5th and 12th streets, The Clevelander is where a lot of Spring Breakers congregate
  • The Delano Hotel used to be the "Miami Music Week Hotel" until it closed in 2020 and is now undergoing some major refurbishment; however, the epic pool parties which typically spread to the surrounding hotels live on, including The National, the Kimpton Surfcomber the Nautilus and the Sagamore.
• In Mid-Beach, the vibe is slightly more subdued, traditionally the action is around the Faena District which is home of the Winter Music Conference where many of the "industry" events take place. 2024 EVENTS HAVE NOT BEEN ANNOUNCED.
• Back in the "mainland" and in the Downtown/Brickell area check out the rooftop pools, such as at the Novotel Brickell, the Kimpton Epic Hotelor at E11EVEN, Miami's mega ULTRACLUB.
• The Wynwood District will also be having its share of events and note that most of the events here are 18+ as opposed to 21+
• Want to party on the water? There will be no shortage of party boats!
• And the ultimate party of course, ULTRA in Bayfront Park

Miami Winter Music Conference at Faena - 2024 EVENT HAS NOT BEEN ANNOUNCED

On its 35th year, this is the Electronic Dance and Music Industry top gathering and the largest of its kind and happening concurrently and under the umbrella of Miami Music Week.

It features hundreds of DJs and artists and an in-depth schedule of panel discussions, workshops and seminars for industry delegates, and of course, parties. In the past Faena District and Faena Hotels has been the home of the Winter Music Conference, which as of last year has been acquired by the organizers behind Ultra Worldwide.

Can anyone attend the Winter Music Conference? The WMC strives to bring together industry professionals and music consumers and two separate segments are featured, WMC Industry and WMC Access. WMC Industry events as the name implies will be dedicated to working professionals looking to network with their peers and attendance is by invitation / application only. Jetskiing in Miami: The rules have changed, if you were born after January 1, 1988, read this!

There are new rules for operating Personal Watercrafts such as Jet Skis and Wave Runners. Per Florida law, anyone born on or after January 1, 1988 must take a boating test. Luckily, the courses can be taken online so anyone that needs to meet this requirement can do so before arriving in Miami.

Here's a list of approved Boating Safety Education courses. The online course offered at www.boatus.org is free, others charge a small fee between $14.99 and $29.95.

And make sure you know the rules, there are a lot of no wake zones for the manatees as well as in the busy areas.

Spring Break Miami 2024 - Know Before You Go - Vacation Responsibly

Expect curfews, security searches and bag checks at beach access points, early beach entrance closures, DUI checkpoints, bumper-to-bumper traffic, road closures and arrests for drug possession and violence.

• Legal drinking age in the State of Florida is 21.
• All direct or indirect consumption of alcohol will be prohibited on public beaches
• Drinking alcohol in public, smoking marijuana and driving under the influence ARE arrestable offenses.
• As in prior years, the city will ban alcohol, coolers, speakers or excessively loud music, glass containers, inflatable devices, styrofoam and tents on the beach.
• Driving a scooter in and out of vehicular traffic or on sidewalks is illegal, so is riding on top of cars
• Local access restrictions will be enforced on some city streets to limit traffic in order to improve mobility for residents and anyone patronizing businesses
• Beach entrances on Ocean Drive will be limited to 5, 10 and 12 streets
• Open containers of alcoholic beverages are not allowed in vehicles at any time
• Effective January 1, 2023, the City of Miami Beach has banned cigarette smoking and other tobacco products from public beaches and parks
