New Year's Eve 2021 Events and Celebrations in Miami

As we get ready to wave 2020 goodbye, there is no question that this New Year's Eve countdown events in Miami will be different and in a lower scale due to the pandemic. We will sure miss our iconic celebrations in Bayfront Park and Pitbull's annual countdown bash... the fantastic fireworks over Biscayne Bay and Big Orange Ball Drop have not been announced for this year, but we still get to welcome 2021 in balmy 70 degree weather... just perfect for all sorts of outdoor and socially-distanced countdown celebrations, gala cruises, rooftop bashes... all in compliance with the latest health and safety measures. So raise your glasses and let's toast for a much much better year ahead!

Many of the recurring annual events including the large scale fireworks displays in Biscayne Bay and Miami Beach have not been announced. It is possible we will see some of the smaller local and community displays like we did for the 4th of July, where you can watch from your home or vehicle, but none have been confirmed as of now, stay tuned for any announcements.

As far as New Year's events go, so far still confirmed and going ahead is the Orange Bowl at Hard Rock Stadium on January 2nd, with limited capacity and enhanced health and safety measures for fans and staff attending the game.

Hit the Boardwalks and Trails at the Everglades

The dry season is approaching, meaning our migrating birds are coming back, manatees take refuge in our warmer waters, alligators are easier to spot as they congregate around the waterholes... in short, this is the season for visiting the Everglades and enjoying nature and the outdoors.

Why not spend a couple of hours walking off all that turkey along the boardwalks and trails?

Our favorite short walks are:

• Anhinga Trail at Royal Palms near the Main Park Entrance at Florida City by Homestead

• The The Loop Road at Shark Valley *

These two trails are always full of activity and are very easy to get to. The walk can be as short or as long as you want to make it.

If you're up for a bike ride, the Shark Valley Loop is also a great option and there are bike rentals available here. *

And there's also canoeing and kayaking through the mangrove tunnels...

Take an Airboat Ride...

Another fun way to see the vastness of the Everglades and fantastic wildlife is by zipping around in an Airboat.

There are many operators offering airboat tours. Many concentrate along US 41, or Tamiami Trail and also near the park's main entrance and visitor center in Homestead.

Simply drive along these two corridors and you can not miss the many signs advertising the airboat rides.

When? Saturday, January 2, 2021
Where? Hard Rock Stadium, Miami Gardens, FL
What's different this year? There will be capacity restrictions and increased sanitization throughout. Socially-distanced seats will be at least six feet apart, with the first several rows closest to the field blocked off. Hard Rock Stadium is a minimum contact stadium, there will be touchless security scans at all gates, touchless restrooms and no cash accepted. Food & beverage concessions will implement mobile ordering with express lane pick up. Face masks are required for all fans and personnel. There will be no tailgating.
