With the cooler weather approaching and hurricane season behind us, November is a great time to head outdoors. Beaches are still balmy but the scorching days are over. All beaches and parks have reopened, so get out!
Migrating birds are making their way back and manatees will be looking for the warmer waters, our National Parks will be teeming with wildlife soon.
Miami in November celebrates several exciting events and holidays and because of Covid-19 which continues to present challenging circumstances, the formats of the events are different this year to comply with social distancing and enhanced health and safety measures. The Miami International Book Fair is going virtual. Next door in Ft. Lauderdale, two favorite events are back and confirmed for this November, the Ft. Lauderdale International Boat Show and the Ft. Lauderdale Air Show.
Many attractions and tours that can be conducted safely and within Covid-19 precautionary guidelines have reopened. The Miami Seaquarium will reopen on November 6 and Jungle Island will be back on November 21 with a whole new eco-adventure park, Aerial Game Trek, featuring rope courses, ziplines, tree houses, etc. Perez Art Museum will reopen on November 7, 2020.
Concerts and large scale entertainment events will have to wait for a while as all indoor arenas and performance centers remain closed.
In sports, the Dolphins and the Canes have made arrangements to bring back fans into the stadium with limited in-person attendance. The NHL and our Florida Panthers are looking at December 1st for the restart of the 2020-2021 season. The NBA is planning on December 22 but possibly until next year by MLK Day to kick off the new season. Stay tuned.
Thanksgiving is upon us and it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Bayfront Park will kick off the holiday season with the official Tree lighting and Bayfront Holiday Village.

The Miami Book Fair International produced by the Center for Literature and Theatre at Miami Dade College is one of the nation's finest literary gatherings. When? December 17, 2020 - 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm, and every 3rd Thursday of the month.
Where? Along Washington Avenue in South Beach from 5th to 17th St. 12 different locations.
How Much? General Admission $15 (entitles you to 12 wine / beer tastes), VIP $25 (entitles you to 24 wine / beer tastes, for 2 people)
