Miami in February is just glorious! These are great times to be outdoors with the cooler and drier temperatures, there's no other place we'd rather be.

February 2020 in Miami packs an exciting roster of top signature events, we start off the month with the Superbowl LIV followed by three signature Miami events celebrating the best in art, food and boating: the Coconut Grove Art Festival, the Miami Boat Show and the South Beach Wine and Food Festival... just in case you need any excuses to get out there and enjoy the gorgeous South Florida winter weather!

For runners and fans, the Miami Marathon was moved to February this year a week after the Superbowl, don't miss the stunning course with even more stunning sights.

February 2020 Highlight Events in Miami

Super Bowl 54 Events in Miami January 25 - February 2, 2020

It is no accident that the Super Bowl has been held a record 10 times in our city (this year will be the 11th time), after all, where would you rather be in February? Sunny South Florida provides the perfect backdrop for a week of exciting outdoor events, parties and celebrations that go beyond the football, Superbowl LIV to be held at Hard Rock Stadium on February 2 promises to deliver in all fronts.

Plans for this fantastic week have been underway for quite a while, details are still trickling in but Downtown Miami will be the epicenter of the happenings with the Super Bowl Live Fan Festival the free public event which will be held in Bayfront Park a week prior to game day.

And there will be many other highlight events happening throughout South Florida including at the Miami Beach Convention Center which will turn into a Super Bowl Theme Park to host the NFL Experience, Taste of the NFL, a strolling wine and food event at the Broward Convention Center, the exclusive MAXIM Havana Nights mega party in Virginia Key and many many more.

Super Saturday Night at Watson Island with Lady Gaga

On the eve of the Big Game, "Super Saturday Night" will take place at a brand new venue Meridian Island Gardens in Watson Island. The new venue which will be specially built and seat around 10,000 people, will welcome Lady Gaga for a fantastic concert and pre Super Bowl extravaganza on February 1st.

Lady Gaga is no stranger to the Super Bowl having performed the 2017 Super Bowl Halftime Show, delivering an electric and unforgettable performance featuring a medley of her greatest hits, expect no less this time!

The event is being produced by Jack Murphy's Consortium Entertainment, which never fails to rise to the ocassion and will stream live on ATT TV

The Miami Marathon and Half-Marathon

A fantastic weekend of running events that culminate with the renowned Miami Marathon on the final day. 25,000 runners, a beautiful course, fantastic views, electric atmosphere! Runners and spectators alike will enjoy what has to be one of the most stunning courses, passing along some of Miami's classic landmarks: Port of Miami, Art Deco District, the MacArthur Causeway...

There is also a Half Marathon or Tropical 5K and Kids Run.

Chinese New Year Festival 2020
Year of the Rat Celebrations - CANCELLED

Chinese New Year is the largest festival in the Asian community calendar which this year welcomes the Year of the Rat.

Colorful celebrations featuring Lion Dances and Dragon Parades as well as cultural performances will take place over the traditional fifteen day holiday period all throughout South Florida. Chinese New Year Day is on January 25, 2020.

Lion Dances and parades are hosted by restaurants and martial art schools throughout the city. Other festivals, spiritual activities and cultural demonstrations are sponsored throughout the first two weeks of the new year.

The largest celebration takes place at Miami Dade College, Kendall campus, jointly hosted by the Confucius Institute and the Chinese Cultural Foundation in Miami, normally on the Sunday following Chinese New Year's Day.

What can you expect? Lion Dances, tai chi demonstrations, calligraphy, face painting, acrobatics, arts and crafts, bounce houses ans slides, and of course, lots of food and the Dragon Parade.

South Beach Wine and Food Festival
presented by Food & Wine - February 19 - 23, 2020

This five-day affair of glorious food, famous chefs, flowing champagne, or wine... or beer... will be attracting its share of foodies to one of the most spectacular places to be in February, gorgeous South Beach.

The festival consists of several events, some private, some open to the trade only, and many many more open to the public for all of our enjoyment. What kind of events? Brunches, Cocktail Parties, Seminars, Dinners, Burger Bashes, Wine Tastings, VIP galas... you name it, and of course the Grand Tasting Village set up in tents along 13th Street and Ocean Drive.

36th Annual South Miami Rotary Art Festival

Join us at the 36th annual South Miami Rotary Art Festival, an annual, two-day outdoor art festival held in the charming and vibrant downtown area of South Miami. The show offers a weekend of exhibition by 150 local and national artists, an expanded food court and beer garden, and live jazz perfomance onstage, with an open jam until 8 pm on Saturday.

The event is always family and dog friendly. Come and celebrate your local and national arts community! All profits used by the Rotary Club of South Miami to fund scholarships and local community projects.

Miami Design District Free Outdoor Concerts

The Miami Design District Performance Series kicks off in the fall and is a fantastic chance to enjoy live FREE outdoor concerts, our marvelous weather as it starts to cool off all wrapped in a fantastic South Florida atmosphere. The events are put together by the Knight Foundation, Design District developer Craig Robins and our very own Emilio Estefan and are free for all to enjoy. (THANK YOU!!!!)

The season normally starts in October and runs through the Holidays. Taking the stage on Friday evenings are performers in all sorts of genres from classical, pop, salsa... last year we had Gloria Gaynor, Jose Luis Rodriguez (El Puma), the Miami Symphony Orchestra... it's an eclectic bunch and regardless of who appears at Palm Court, it is always an enjoyable evening and a great way to kick start your weekend. And did I mention it's FREE?!!!
